Looks like the doa did not help Rayani Air! Was the ASL and Air Operator Certificate granted by DCA Director General Halal?

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia's first syariah-compliant airline, Rayani Air, will begin its operation this Sunday after receiving an air service licence and air operator certificate from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).

Rayani Air has been granted the Air Service License (ASL) and Air Operator's Certificate by the DCA Director-General Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman.

Rayani Air is a Malaysian regional carrier based in Langkawi. The 'boutique airline' plans to increase leisure traffic to Langkawi, as the state plans to boost inbound traffic from 3.5 million annually. Rayani Air hopes to expand and provide international services later in 2016. Although it is privately owned, the state government has committed to subsidise holiday services to Langkawi. The airline began flying Langkawi-Kota Bharu and Langkawi-Kuala Lumpur services with two Boeing 737-400s on 20-Dec-2015. It is the first shariah compliant airline in Malaysia.

Jaafar Zamhari, Rayani Air's managing director, confirmed that alcohol would be banned on all flights and detailed the strict dress code.
"It is compulsory for our Muslim women cabin crew to wear hijab and for non-Muslims to wear a decent uniform", Mr Zamhari said, according to local news outlet Astro Awani.
"We also recite doa [prayers] before the departure of each flight, we have a 'no-alcohol' policy, and we provide food and beverages that are halal."
